Describe your scientific interests.

Describe your current research activities, if any, including collaborations with investigators / mentors in the WV-INBRE. Indicate if you have participated in previous WV-INBRE summer research programs..

List any current, pending or previous intramural or extramural research support, and provide a brief description of each grant.

Describe your current needs for supporting your research activities at your institution (e.g., learning new techniques, equipment, supply money, etc.).

Describe your long-term research plans.

Explain why you wish to participate in this program, and if you have selected a mentor already, please describe to project you plan to conduct. We recognize that due to scheduling and personal issues, it may not be possible to spend the entire nine weeks at the mentor’s institution; however, we require that the majority of the time be spent there with the remainder in the fellow’s laboratory in his/her home institution. If it will not be possible for you to spend the entire time at the mentor’s institution, please provide a plan by which the time would be split between the two institutions. If for some reason, you are unable to participate for the entire nine weeks, but would like to participate for a shorter time, please explain this situation. In this case, the stipend would be pro-rated.

Are you willing to support undergraduate or graduate research in your lab, and if so how would you do that?

Requested Mentors::

* The 2022 Mentors Directory is currently unavailable. The 2021 Mentors Directory (http://www.wv-inbre.net/summerprogram/documents/WVUMarshallMentorsDirectory.pdf) may help you in identifying potential mentors. If you have an area of research that is of interest to you and you do not know a potential mentor, please let Dr. Mangiarua know, and she will assist you in identifying one. Otherwise, list the names of three mentors with whom you are interested in working this summer and why. It is highly encouraged that you contact prospective mentors before they are listed to ensure that your interests and their research projects will be a good match and that they have space for you in their labs this summer.
