Funding Opportunity Description
The WV-INBRE program is providing support of biomedical research in the form of vouchers to offset costs incurred in the SMART and/or Data Science core facilities. This solicitation is open to applications from investigators at WV-INBRE Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) and Community and Technical Colleges (CTCs).
Program Goal: To allow investigators to generate and analyze new genomics and multiomics data to increase competitiveness of NIH R01, R03 and other investigator-initiated proposals in the biomedical sciences.

- Proteomics & Metabolomics*
*With outside collaborating facilities
Data Science Core Services
- Analysis of existing genomic data
- Bioinformatics analysis
- Statistical analysis
- Data visualization
- Computational modeling
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible Applicants
- Tenure track and tenured faculty at PUIs and CTCs
- Research track faculty at network partner institutions
- Projects using NGS technologies or analysis of existing data
Not Eligible
- Faculty at lead institutions (MU and WVU)
- Postdoctoral fellows and students
- Funds already allocated in other grants
Application Requirements
Required Components
Page Limit: Combined narratives (Goals & Specific Aims through Plans for External Grant Applications) must not exceed 3 pages.
Required Consultation: Applicants must conference with Dr. Salisbury and Dr. Denvir to determine feasibility, experimental design and cost of the proposal before submission.

Review Process & Criteria
Rolling Review: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. Previous voucher recipients will be evaluated on the success of their previous voucher-supported project.
Responsibilities of Voucher Recipients
Required Activities
- Submit annual progress report with publications and grants
- Present findings at scientific meeting (WV-INBRE Summer Symposium acceptable)
- Complete Undergraduate Student Tracking Form if applicable
- Acknowledge core support in all presentations and publications
Acknowledgment Requirements
- Acknowledge support from SMART Core and/or Data Science Core
- Cite WV-INBRE grant: P20GM103434
- Manuscript publication is highly encouraged
